These are the main TechieToons characters;
Barbara – Chairwoman.
Barbara is an unstoppable force. A ruthless executive who takes no prisoners in her quest for success. She commands one of the largest venture capital firms in all of North America.
But here’s the amusing twist: Barbara’s towering ego, which could rival the height of Mount Everest, became her Achilles’ heel when Mike cleverly exploited it to secure funding.
Whenever Barbara graces our presence, all we ever glimpse is the back of her head, as if it symbolizes her enigmatic and “faceless” nature. She’s the epitome of impersonal and cold, bordering on heartlessness.
Oh, and for the love of all things holy, never make the grave error of referring to Barbara as the “chairman.” The unfortunate soul who dared to commit that blunder was subjected to a five-minute-long berating that left their spirit shattered, reduced to tears as they made their hasty retreat from the office.
Mike – Founder & CEO.
Mike possesses an uncanny knack for spinning tales and transforming himself into a self-proclaimed visionary. His storytelling prowess has, quite miraculously, managed to secure a staggering $250 million in venture capital funding, even though ACME Tech’s actual sales barely scrape the $5 million mark. However, when it comes to running a company and interacting with people, well, let’s just say Mike’s talents fall woefully short. He’s a bumbling, clueless individual who diligently reads all the trendy business books yet somehow manages to extract absolutely no useful knowledge from them. It’s an impressive feat, really.
Mike is starting to feel the pressure. His backers, including Barbara, are starting to to grow nervous as they see ACME Tech continue to under-perform. This pressure is only causing Mike to do more idiotic things that are making things even worse for ACME Tech.
David – Director of Marketing.
David has developed a special talent: the art of hating his job with an unrivaled passion. ACME Tech and his boss, Mike, have become the perfect targets for his disdain. It’s a constant battle for David to keep his tongue in check throughout the excruciating workday. Oh, how he longs to unleash his fury upon unsuspecting souls, but alas, he must restrain himself. Why, you ask? Well, it’s a classic case of being trapped in a job because of the ol’ ball and chain—his wife, three kids, and the relentless mortgage payments.
In David’s wildest daydreams, he envisions a heroic act of quitting his job and delivering a swift punch to Mike’s unsuspecting throat. Ah, the stuff dreams are made of!
Ted – Director of Sales.
Ted stumbled into a sales job purely by accident. Selling just isn’t his cup of tea; in fact, his stomach turns at the mere thought of it. Ted, bless his introverted soul, would much rather hide in the shadows than engage in the high-pressure world of sales. It’s no wonder he finds Mike’s web of lies utterly deplorable.
Now, here’s the rub: Ted may have a severe aversion to sales, but he has an inexplicable talent for mismanaging his money. This shy fellow with a penchant for flashy purchases has splurged on a Porsche 911, a Rolex watch, and a mammoth-sized house. Living the high life, huh? Well, there’s just one tiny problem—he’s drowning in debt. Ted’s financial situation is as out of control as a rodeo bull on roller skates, and it’s the very reason he’s shackled to ACME Tech.
Ted may not be Mike’s biggest fan, but he reluctantly tolerates his boss because, you see, he needs this job to sustain his grandiose lifestyle of excess. Ted is struggling to escape the clutches of debt while enduring the presence of Mike, the necessary evil who helps keep the lights on for his flashy, yet ill-advised, escapades.
Edward – Customer.
Meet Edward, the master of busyness at his company. Juggling competing priorities has become his life’s greatest circus act. It’s like trying to juggle flaming swords while riding a unicycle on a tightrope—constant struggle, constant adrenaline rush.
To make matters more entertaining, Edward had to perform the dreaded headcount reduction dance due to budget cuts. Yes, the “reducing staff while maintaining miracles” routine. It’s the classic tale of doing more with less, as if Edward is expected to transform water into gourmet coffee with just a snap of his fingers.
In the midst of this chaos, Edward embarked on an epic quest to find the holy grail of software, something that would automate those pesky manual processes plaguing his department. But oh, the adventures he’s had so far with software vendors!
Edward’s journey is far from over. As he wades through the treacherous waters of software demos and sales pitches, we can only hope that his quest for the perfect automation solution ends in a triumphant victory. Until then, let’s grab some popcorn, sit back, and watch the circus unfold.
